Strap Fold Calculator

Enter the length of your leather strip and the gap you want between the two rivet holes at each end. You get where to punch, where it folds, and how long the strap ends up, plus a full-size template to print and lay on the leather.

Your strap

The strip as cut, end to end, before folding.

cm
Centre to centre, for the pair of holes that fold onto each other. Bigger gap, bigger loop. Same at both ends.
Leather and edge settings
cm
How far in from the cut end the outer hole sits, so the rivet isn't at the edge.
Only moves the fold line slightly, so the holes line up once folded. The holes stay where you set them.

Print at 100% / Actual size (turn off "Fit to page"). Check the scale square on page 1 with a ruler before you punch.

  1. Trim each page at the strip's end line and butt the pages together, matching the ruler numbers. Tape them.
  2. Lay the template on the leather with the end lines on the ends of your strip.
  3. Punch through the four hole marks. Crease the fold lines.
  4. Fold each end around the buckle or ring so the outer hole sits on the inner hole, then set the rivet.
